An atmospheric storybook illustration of Maeve Moonbeam preparing chamomile tea in her cozy cottage kitchen during twilight. Soft, golden evening light stream through an open window where fireflies are beginning to drift outside. Maeve, featuring large sage green luna moth wings and long wild copper curls, smiles softly as steam rises from her porcelain teacup. The wooden counter is filled with dried chamomile flowers, a glass jar of honey, and hanging herbs overhead, creating a warm and comforting domestic scene with deep visual breathing room.

The lantern flowers are still glowing.

Not as brightly as they were last week, perhaps, but enough to make the garden feel enchanted after sunset.

Maeve noticed the first firefly three evenings ago.

Just one.

A tiny drifting light floating lazily above the flower beds as though summer had sent a messenger ahead of schedule.

Naturally, this completely disrupted her plans for the evening.

Not that the plans were particularly important. She had intended to organize a shelf in the attic. The shelf remains unorganized and seems to be coping remarkably well.

The firefly returned the following evening.

Then another appeared.

And another.

Now every dusk finds Maeve sitting on the porch with a cup of tea, watching the garden slowly wake up in a different way.

The flowers glow.

The fireflies answer.

The stars eventually join in.

Smokey insists the entire thing is being overblown.

He has nevertheless attended every observation session.

The cottage feels different this week.

The windows stay open later.

The evenings linger longer.

The garden seems reluctant to go to sleep.

Summer has not arrived all at once.

It is arriving one tiny light at a time.
