After yesterday’s discovery, I carried the little tin of forgotten seeds out to the garden this morning.
I set it beside my favorite mug and wandered through the herb beds, brushing my fingers over the leaves until one familiar lemony scent stopped me in my tracks.

Lemon balm.
It has a way of reminding me that the gentlest things are often the most comforting.
I gathered a handful of fresh leaves, tucked in a sprig of mint for good measure, and poured hot water over them while the kettle was still singing. A spoonful of honey disappeared into the cup, catching the morning light before melting away.

The first sip tasted like sunshine after rain.
Soft.
Bright.
Unhurried.
I think we spend so much time searching for something new that we forget to appreciate what’s already growing around us.
Sometimes the garden doesn’t ask us to plant another seed.
Sometimes it simply invites us to enjoy what has quietly flourished all along.
Smokey joined me on the garden bench, stretching out in a patch of warm sunlight with the confidence of someone who has never once worried about tomorrow’s to-do list.
Perhaps that’s his favorite kind of magic.
I’m beginning to think it might be mine, too.
