Smokey’s Official Position on Supervising

Smokey would like to clarify a misunderstanding.

Supervising is work.

It requires finding a location with an unobstructed view of whatever someone else is doing.

It requires remaining alert for important developments.

Such as:

A cupboard opening.

Cheese appearing.

Someone sitting in your chair.

The possibility of lunch.

It also requires occasional slow blinking to maintain morale.

At no point does supervising require actually helping.

That would be a completely different department.

Once the activity has concluded, the supervisor should inspect the results, determine whether anything is edible, and retire immediately for a nap.

This is known as leadership.

Smokey hopes this clears things up.
