On the Proper Storage of Blankets
The evenings have become cool enough that Maeve has returned the blankets to the reading chair.
This is sensible.
Yesterday, she folded one over the arm of the chair and stepped away. I settled on it immediately.
The arrangement was now complete.
Blanket goes on chair.
Cat goes on blanket.
Storage complete.
Some time later, Maeve returned and reached for the blanket. I looked at her hand. Then at her. Then back at the hand, in case she had failed to notice where she had put it.
Apparently, she believed the blanket remained available for human use.
This is an administrative misunderstanding.
A blanket without a cat is improperly stored. A cat without a blanket is unacceptable working conditions. Once both have been placed together on the reading chair, the matter has been adjudicated.
Maeve said she was cold.
I blinked slowly.
Her request has been denied.
She may retrieve the other blanket, provided she has not also stored that one beneath me.
